What causes rib pain in people with leukemia?

Rib pain can occur in leukemia when abnormal white blood cells accumulate in the bone marrow of the ribs. This buildup puts pressure on the nerves inside the bone tissue, which can cause soreness, aching, or sharp pain in the rib area. Additionally, some people with leukemia may experience abdominal pain if cancerous white blood cells accumulate in organs like the liver and spleen. This can cause these organs to enlarge, potentially leading to discomfort in the lower rib area.

If you're experiencing new or worsening rib pain, it's important to discuss these symptoms with your healthcare team, as they can help determine the cause and recommend appropriate pain management strategies.

I think a pain can occur when those excess white blood cells collect in areas that impact on otherbody or organ areas. The spleen is above the stomach and it can collect excess WBC and this can place pressure on the stomach causing a problem with the stomach? Those bad cells can be anywhere and the problems they cause is part of the illness of having excess bad cells.
