I try not to dwell on my cancer. I do what's necessary for my ongoing well being and let it go at that. I don't worry. If I worry I feel like I've given control over to the cancer and I refuse to do that. God is in control so what have I got to worry about? Sooo ... The question to take your mind off cancer is ... What's your favorite thing about the holiday season? The food? The people? The presents? The memories? The fill-in-the-blank. Give it some thought and share here. 😁

Members shared what they love most about the holiday season in response to a question designed to take their minds off cancer, with many emphasizing time spent with family and friends, decorating their homes with trees and nativity scenes, and remembering the spiritual significance of Christmas. Several members opened up about how cancer has changed their holiday experiences, including one who created a massive toy drive after being told they wouldn't see another Christmas, bringing joy to sick children at a hospital, and another grateful their son would finish chemo in time to come home for the holidays. A recurring theme was finding meaning and joy despite illness through faith, giving to others, cherishing memories, and holding onto hope for better health in the new year.

I am a doer and giver, so I don’t tell people I have cancer and go and do stuff for people and with people and stay positive

Christmas is just fun 😄 My favorite Christmas memory: I strung popcorn and went out into the woods and decorated a little tree for the birds to eat. My Christmas present to nature.

I think my favorite part of Christmas is that it is my heavenly Father’s birthday.A season that makes my heart full even though this year has been hard. Christmas feels a little different since Gav has AML.. I also love decorating our house with my family with all the vintage Xmas decor that my mom and grandma handed down to me. We all love to help, especially Gavin, he’s always been the one out of all 4 kids who had the most Christmas spirit every year since he was about 5. He usually just glows this time of year, not this year, 🥹 but I’m just thankful he’s finishing this round of chemo tomorrow and coming home! 🎄❤️Merry Christmas Ajaya!
