Bottom line I was in the Hospital with Hemolytic Anemia for a week. My Hemoglobin dropped down to 3.6. My oncologist is just making sure that I don’t end up in the hospital again.

Starting a new treatment can feel daunting, but it's great that you're doing your research ahead of time! Many MyLeukemiaTeam members have been on Gazyva, often in combination with other treatments like you're experiencing.

Here's what is commonly reported with Gazyva:

- Headache
- Fever
- Cough
- Upper respiratory infections
- Infusion site reactions
- Itching
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Loss of appetite
- Hair loss
- Joint pain
- Low blood cell counts

The infusion site reactions and flu-like symptoms tend to be most noticeable during early infusions, so heads up for that first session especially. There are also some rarer but more serious side effects to be aware of:

- Severe allergic or hypersensitivity reactions
- Serious infections
- Tumor lysis syndrome (when many cancer cells die rapidly at once)

It's really important to let your care team know immediately if anything feels off during or after your infusions. They'll likely monitor your blood counts and overall health closely throughout treatment.

Since you're already on Calquence, make sure your doctor is aware of all medications you're taking so they can watch for any interactions. You've got this! 💪

Hi John I am on Calquence and it is working good. Why the infusions? Calquence has brought me back to normal. I hope the same for you.
