Just had another blood test. WBC is up from 49 to 51.22 and platelets have dropped to 60 within the last 3 months. Doctor still wants to wait for another month, do another test, before possibly putting me on medication. Does this sound normal? Any feedback is appreciated.

It's best to wait as long as possible before getting any treatment..I have had leukemia over 12 and a half years..my placttlets dropped from 125 to 101 and my white count is up Down up down I was 67 now I am 43 .1 .. sometimes this is not related to leukemia I found a lot of things were raising my white count up and I was doing things that lowered my placttlets Research white count and what can make it rise ..and research what can lower your placttlets and make some changes it really helps a lot ..I added papaya for my placttlets and I had some Allergies to food that my body was fighting and this was raising my white count.. hope this helps..

Agree with Deb. From what I’ve learned and read, best to wait as long as possible before going on meds.

Rich, If you are concerned about how your treatment is being managed, you might want to get a second opinion, preferably from someone who specializes in the kind of cancer you have and, if possible, at a center that does research and trials.
